An OPP helicopter and the Emergency Response Team spent much of their day in Point Clark Tuesday, searching for a “man in distress.” Police say shortly before 3 a.m., they received a report of a “male in distress” at a property on Amberley Beach Road. Upon arrival, officers set up an “area of containment” as they searched for the man, who they described as “having concerns for his safety.” At one point, police had some Point Clark residents stay in their homes as they searched, but they later loosened those restrictions, saying there was no concern for public safety. By late afternoon, police ended their search for the day. They did not say whether they located the man.
