Hanover is marking a milestone in its 25-year partnership with Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG). The town just surpassed $25 million in revenue it receives from OLG for hosting the casino and slots in Hanover. The facility was opened in 2001. Last quarter, Hanover received $278,000 from OLG. Officials in Hanover say they’ve used the money to buy a Zamboni for the town’s arena, as well as funding improvements to the Civic Theatre. Central Huron is marking a milestone itself, taking in $15 million since their casinos and slots facility opened in 2000. Communities that host OLG casinos or slots in Ontario receive a portion of revenues each quarter.
