Driver rescued after car plunges off Wellington Road Bridge into Dingman Creek

Emergency services are reminding drivers that just because the sun is out, doesn’t mean the roads are in good condition.

On Sunday afternoon, crews responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash where a car had gone over the bridge on Wellington Road south, landing in Dingman Creek.

When they got there, crews found the vehicle upright in the creek.

According to London fire, there was little to no water in the creek at the time.

Crews helped the driver to get out of the car by having him lower the convertible top and using a roof ladder from engine 9 to climb out of the vehicle.

London fire says this serves as a reminder, “That even on sunny days, dry roads, it’s important to drive safely.”
