Death investigation underway after body discovered in south London

An investigation is underway after a deceased person was located in a south London home on Tuesday evening.

According to a news release from the London Police Service, at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday police responded to a home located in the area of Adelaide Street South and Maud Street after receiving a call in relation to a deceased person.

Upon arrival, police confirmed the person had died.

The investigation has since been reassigned to the Major Crime Section. Also assisting in the investigation is the Office of the Chief Coroner in order to determine the identity of the deceased and a cause of death.

The investigation is in its early stages and remains ongoing.

Police say more information will be provided as it becomes available.
