Car crash causes south London power outage

A car collided with a utility pole Monday morning, causing widespread power outages in central London.

Hundreds of London Hydro customers are in the dark Monday morning after a car crashed into a hydro pole.

According to London police, the crash happened around 1 a.m. on Upper Queen Street in south London.

A section of the road is closed between Wilkins Street and Clarendon Crescent.

London Hydro posted to social media saying all power is estimated to be restored by 9 a.m.

Shortly after 9 a.m., London hydro posted again to say about 200 customers were still without power and that everything should be restored by 12 p.m.
