South Bruce OPP have charged a bus driver they say drove on a closed highway Monday night, only to stop the same driver again several hours later. According to a news release from South Bruce OPP, on Monday at approximately 10:30 p.m., an officer stopped a coach bus that had become stuck on Highway 21 in Kincardine. Highway 21 had been closed for several hours at this time due to powerful snow squalls that had hammered the region. The bus driver, a 45-year-old from Walkerton, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving on a closed highway. At approximately 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, South Bruce OPP received a call from a concerned passenger on the bus as the driver was once again travelling on a still closed Highway 21. Police located the bus in Tiverton and charged the same driver again with driving on a closed highway.
