After overnight showers, cooler air settles in ahead of warmer weekend

After some heavy overnight rainfall across parts of region, we’re waking up to cloudy, overcast conditions Wednesday.

“We still have a chance for showers today, but the bulk of the rainfall is moving off to the east, temperatures on the cool side,” said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “The winds shift to the northwest with the passage of the cold front and that means, yes, temperatures will struggle this afternoon, we’ll remain well below normal.”

Overcast conditions continue into Thursday with the slight chance for showers, but thing’s shift in time for the holiday weekend.

“Through the holiday weekend, we could see some showers,” explained Atchison. “Saturday, 30 per cent, might be a bit low, but temperatures are going to warm up this weekend.”

She continued, “Will we get this warm? Well, if we’re into a mix of sun and cloud and less cloud cover, we will likely see temperatures in the low 20s, but I am expecting the weekend forecast to change a bit as we get closer.”

Wednesday night: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of showers. Wind northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low 6.

Thursday: Cloudy. High 14.

Friday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 20.

Saturday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of showers. High 25.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 23.
