Warm, sunny day continues before rain, thunderstorms expected overnight

Meteorologist Julie Atchison has the latest fore cast for southern and midwestern Ontario

It’s a beautiful day across the area with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 20s, according to CTV News meteorologist Julie Atchison.

“We’re starting to see a bit of cloud cover associated with the low pressure system make the move towards parts of midwestern Ontario... the cloud will thicken tonight with some rain rolling in possibly,” she said.

Thunderstorms are possible overnight with the low pressure system ejecting at southern Manitoba, moving towards the Great Lakes.

“The chance for showers through the evening, although the probability on the lower end, it will really start to pick up though as we head through the overnight and early tomorrow [Thursday] morning,” Atchison added.

As we head through Thursday, she said we’ll see some breaks midday, but by the afternoon into the evening, there is the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms.

“We’ll have a bit of cloud cover to contend with, but temperatures are right where we should be for this time of year. So Thursday, 22, but it will feel like the upper 20s. The humidity picks up with this low pressure system moving.”
