A Scottish animal shelter says it's been inundated with offers from people around the world, hoping to adopt a dog-sized rabbit.

The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is searching for a home for Atlas, a seven-month-old continental giant rabbit.

The SPCA posted a photo of Atlas on its Facebook page on Monday, asking for help to find a home for the friendly giant.

On Tuesday, the organization posted an update saying that they've been flooded with adoption from as far away as Finland, the U.S. and Australia.

"While it's fantastic that so many people want to offer Atlas a loving home, we will find him one here in Scotland to avoid a long journey," the SPCA wrote, explaining that a long journey would be hard because rabbits are "very susceptible to stress."

The SPCA took to Facebook again to remind those offering to adopt Atlas that the centre has many other rabbits also looking for homes.

Five rabbits were featured in the post, located across Scotland, but the SPCA reminded the public that many more pets are featured on its website

We've been inundated with offers for Atlas the larger than life rabbit but please don't forget our other buns - we have...
