Three men are facing multiple charges for allegedly breaking into a church building and setting up a makeshift camp. Guelph Police Service officers were called to the downtown church after staff discovered plywood boards had been removed from a vacant building on the property. Investigators said the trio had made a campsite inside the building and they found evidence of several fires which had caused extensive damage, including holes in the floor. The men between the ages of 38 and 45 were arrested and charged with break and enter, mischief and breaching a probation order. One of them is also facing weapon offences after a spring-assisted knife was found. Another man was charged with obstructing a police officer after he refused to provide his name.
