A Guelph man has been charged after a robbery took place at a south-end home over the weekend. Guelph Police said the incident happened Sunday around 7:30 a.m. at a home near Gordon Street and Edinburgh Road South. Investigators determined that the suspect had smashed a window to enter the home, with jewelry and a Gucci bag being stolen, which were valued around $7,000 total. The suspect was identified after going through security camera footage at the home. On Tuesday morning, the man was arrested after being spotted downtown. During the arrest, officers recovered a hacksaw and a large set of tin snips. A 56-year-old Guelph man was charged with break and enter, theft over $5,000, and possessing break-in instruments.
