A Guelph woman is facing robbery and stolen property charges after police allege she dropped her identification while struggling with an employee at a north-end business. Guelph Police said officers were called to a business near Woodlawn Road and Woolwich Street at about 8:30 p.m. Friday. “A woman entered the business and placed a number of items into a bag. As she tried to leave without paying an employee blocked her way,” police said in a media release. “A struggle ensued, during which the suspect attempted to bite the employee. During the struggle the woman dropped a number of items, including her identification.” Officers located the suspect a short distance away and arrested her. During a search, police said they recovered items believed to have been stolen from another nearby business. A 33-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with robbery and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
