A Guelph man is facing weapons charges after witnesses saw him yelling at children at an apartment building. The Guelph Police Service was told the man shouted at the children who were playing outside the building just after noon on Tuesday. Witnesses said he also used racial slurs. When witnesses tried to separate the man from the children, he reportedly took out a large knife and began threatening them before he ran off into the building. He was later arrested by police, who found two knives and a BB gun during the arrest. The 35-year-old Guelph man was charged with two counts of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of uttering threats, mischief to property and three counts of breaching a probation order.
