A Guelph man has been arrested and charged for selling drugs to vulnerable people in the city. Police received tips that a man was selling drugs in the downtown core around 10:45 a.m. When officers arrived, they arrested a 66-year-old man and found several unlabeled pill bottles with suspected Dilaudid and Percocet in his possession. They also found a scale and more than $600 in cash. The man was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. “We remain committed to protecting our community by focusing enforcement efforts on those who seek to profit from the distribution of these illegal substances in our community. We will continue to work closely with our community partners to support individuals living with drug addiction, but illegal open drug use and the trafficking of these dangerous substances will not be tolerated,” Guelph Police Chief Gord Cobey said in a news release. “We encourage our citizens to contact us when they witness any activities that cause them concern for their safety.”
