As Ontario Hockey League fans get ready for the start of the season, Guelph Storm supporters are getting a bit of a boost. The Canadian Hockey League has released their preseason Top 10 Rankings for 2026/2026. The Guelph Storm claimed the top spot, followed by the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League’s Cape Breton eagles and the Victoria Royals from the Western Hockey League. Fellow OHL teams The London Knights, Saginaw Spirit and Ottawa 67’s also made the list. The ranking is put together with input from NHL Central Scouting. The Guelph Storm are set to host the Memorial Cup later this season, coinciding with the city’s bi-centennial celebrations. Home openers The Guelph Storm will be hosting the Erie Otters for their regular season home opener on Friday at 7:07 p.m. The Kitchener Rangers will also be hosting their home opener on Friday. Before they hit the ice against the Owen Sound Attack, the Blueshirts will be hoisting their Memorial Cup and J. Ross Robertson Cup banners. That game is set to start at 7 p.m.
