Approximately $40,000 worth of copper pieces were taken from a storage area behind a Guelph business. Guelph Police Service officers were called to the building near Laird Road and Southgate Drive shortly before 11 a.m. Monday. They were told the copper that was taken weighed approximately 600 to 700 kg. Police believe whoever stole the copper likely used a van or pickup truck to haul the pieces away. They may have made several trips. Investigators believe the theft happened sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.
