The Waterloo Regional Police want to speak with the people who helped a teenaged cyclist after an alleged hit-and-run in Kitchener. On Sept. 30, around 4 p.m., emergency services responded to the crash involving a vehicle and a cyclist at the intersection of Highland Road West and Westmount Road West. Police said the cyclist, a 17-year-old boy, was hit by a vehicle. The driver did not stay at the crash site. Investigators say the vehicle is a blue Ford F-150. Police believe several people stopped to help the cyclist after the collision. Police said one person even drove the cyclist to his home in the area of Eagen Drive. Investigators want to speak with anyone who stopped to assist the cyclist or who may have information regarding the crash. The cyclist was later transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Traffic Services Unit.
