Construction has begun at the site of a new elementary school in Breslau. On Monday, the Waterloo Region District School Board held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Breslau-Hopewell Crossing Elementary School at 95 Loxleigh Lane. The school will have enough room for 611 students, ranging from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. It will also have 73 spaces available at its on-site child care centre. “This school will not only support students’ academic success, prepare them for future pathways and provide an environment of belonging and connection,” said Scott Miller, the school board’s CEO. “It will also create a true community hub and provide an opportunity to bring together families, friends and neighbourhoods for many years to come.” The province previously approved a $32.5 million investment to build Breslau-Hopewell Crossing Elementary School. The doors are set to open in September 2027.
