A ride from a stranger nearly turned into an unwanted role in the sex trade for a 25-year-old woman, Brantford Police say. According to police, the woman was recently walking on a street in Hamilton when she was approached by a man in a vehicle offering her a ride. The woman took him up on his offer – after which he allegedly drove her to her house and made her “feel that she could not leave the home.” Wednesday, police say, the man drove the woman to a Brantford hotel where he expected her to work as an escort. The woman was able to get a message to police, who say they responded to the hotel and found the woman before any sexual acts took place. A 30-year-old man found in a vehicle near the hotel faces charges of human trafficking, withholding documents and procuring a person for sexual services.
