A man is facing multiple drug and weapons charges after police said he tried to run from officers. Waterloo Regional Police officers spotted a man wanted on previous criminal offences while they were patrolling in the King Street East and Scott Street area of Kitchener on Wednesday around 12:20 a.m. They said the suspect tried to run from officers. Police called in the canine unit to help with the search and found the suspect hiding underneath a vehicle. During his arrest, police said they found suspected drugs. An 18-year-old man from Kitchener has been charged with escaping lawful custody, possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with a release order.
