Waterloo Regional Police have charged a local man in connection with a commercial robbery on Thursday. Police responded to a report of a robbery at a business in the area of Glen Forrest Blvd and Weber Street North at around 2 p.m. According to police, a man went into the business, brandished a firearm, and demanded cash before fleeing the store and getting into a waiting vehicle. Officers found the suspect at a nearby residence and arrested him an hour and a half later. “A search warrant was completed at the residence and officers located and seized a black BB gun and recovered the cash stolen during the incident,” police said in a news release. A 30-year-old Waterloo man has been charged with: He is being held for a bail hearing. Police said a second suspect was taken into custody but was not charged.
