Waterloo Regional Police are continuing an investigation into an aggravated assault that left two men in the hospital with serious injuries. On Sunday around 4:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of an assault at a residential building on Columbia Street West near King Street North. According to investigators, an altercation broke out between the homeowners and two victims after the victims allegedly tried to enter a residential unit. The victims, identified as a 34-year-old male and a 29-year-old male, sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant surveillance or dashcam video footage, to contact police.
