There will be plenty of local talent on the ice during the 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase. Thirty-two Canadians have been invited to take part in the annual event that gives hockey players a chance to prove themselves ahead of the World Juniors on Boxing Day. The camp will be held from July 26 until August 1 and feature players from Canada, the United States, Finland and Sweden. It is being held at the WFCU Centre in Windsor, Ont. Kitchener Rangers fans can look forward to seeing Cameron Reid hit the ice, while the Guelph Storm will be well represented by Ethan Czata, Tyler Hopkins and Ryan Roobroeck. Caleb Malhotra, fresh off the 2026 NHL Draft, also has a chance to make the Brantford Bulldogs proud. Brady Martin, a player with the Soo Greyhounds from Elmira, Ont. who was snapped up by the Nashville Predators during the 2025 NHL Draft, is also included on the roster. Brantford’s Jake O’Brien was invited, but he is unable to make it. Canada’s first game will be on July 29 as they face off against Sweden.
