A 23-year-old pedestrian died Wednesday morning after she was struck by a truck at a Waterloo intersection. Waterloo Regional Police said it happened at University Avenue East and Marsland Drive around 8:15 a.m. The victim, a Waterloo woman, was taken to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the straight truck was a 54-year-old man from Kitchener. Police said he was not hurt. The intersection was closed for several hours while officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police said charges for the crash are anticipated.
