A 25-year-old Brantford man is facing multiple charges after an altercation in the city’s downtown left one person injured Friday afternoon. Brantford Police said officers were called to the area of Chatham Street and Queen Street at approximately 2:12 p.m. on Friday for reports of a dispute involving two males. When officers arrived, they located one of the individuals involved suffering from what police described as non-life-threatening injuries. They were treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further assessment and treatment. Investigators determined the incident was isolated and said there is no ongoing risk to public safety because all individuals involved have been identified. A 25-year-old Brantford man has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a judicial release order. Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have dashcam or surveillance footage, to contact Brantford Police.
