A Kitchener man has been charged with careless driving causing death in a collision that claimed the life of an e-bike operator. Emergency services were called to the collision between a GMC pickup truck and the e-bike at the intersection of Lancaster Street and Guelph Street in Kitchener on April 3. The driver of the e-bike, a 44-year-old Kitchener man, was taken to hospital, but died of his injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, a 38-year-old man, was not hurt. On Monday, the Waterloo Regional Police Service announced they had charged the truck driver with careless driving causing death and turning while not in safety.
