A 51-year-old man died Monday after his lawn mower was hit by a car in North Dumfries. Emergency responders were called to Clyde Road and Clydebank Drive, just east of the Cambridge Golf Club, around 10 a.m. The man had been operating the lawnmower at the time of the crash. Waterloo Regional Police initially said the man had life-threatening injuries, then later confirmed he died at the scene. The driver of the car was a 16-year-old girl from Cambridge. Police said she was not hurt. Clyde Road was closed for most of the day while police investigated the circumstances leading up to the crash. Previous collision Monday’s crash is the second one at Clyde Road and Clydebank Drive in just the last eight months. Four teens were taken to hospital on Oct. 6 after the 15-year-old behind the wheel lost control of her vehicle and hit a hydro pole. The driver, two male passengers and a female passenger received medical treatment for serious injuries. Police said all four were under the age of 16.
