A woman has died and a toddler was taken to hospital with critical injuries after a crash in Hamilton. The head-on collision happened on Tuesday around 7:06 a.m. on Highway 5 just east of Highway 8. The Ontario Provincial Police said a 20-year-old man from Millgrove was driving a pickup truck westbound when he collided with an eastbound minivan driven by a 35-year-old Cambridge man. A 32-year-old woman who had been in the front passenger seat of the van died at the crash site. A two-year-old boy who had also been in the minivan was taken to a children’s hospital with critical injuries. Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said charges are expected, but the investigation is ongoing.
