The clock is ticking on a new highly-anticipated single from Justin Timberlake, a track that’s been seven years in the making.

The pop sensation hinted at the new release via Twitter on Thursday when he wrote: “To whom it may concern…I think I’M READY #JT2013.”

The tweet linked to a timer on Timberlake’s website counting down to 12:01 a.m. Monday – the anticipated time of the release.

He later tweeted to his fans: “I love you guys. But this teasing is just too much fun! Tick, tock, tick, tock.”

A video posted on the Timberlake’s website features a monologue of the singer/actor as he makes his way to a recording studio.

“Look, I’ve only done two albums in 10 years. That’s the way I really look at it -- what does the next decade mean for me?” he says in the video.

“I don’t want to put anything out that I feel is something I don’t love. You just don’t get that every day.”

Timberlake released his last album “FutureSex/LoveSounds” in 2006, which followed his 2002 solo debut “Justified.”

The former N’Sync member has spent the last few years focusing on his film career, landing leading roles in “The Social Network”, “In Time” and “Friends with Benefits.”
