Cineplex will soon appeal to nearly all of your senses in its quest to sell movie tickets.

When the exhibitor opens its first 4DX theatre in downtown Toronto this summer it will bring a new level of sensory technology into Canadian cinemas. The experience combines motion chairs and various environmental effects inside the theatre, like wind and scent, to complement the big-screen action.

Here are a few recent Hollywood moments that were amped up by 4DX:

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"

During a climactic fight between Superman and Doomsday, the 4DX chair's "leg ticklers" are used to convey the superhero's body being dragged through the dirt.

"Transformers: Age of Extinction"

Is that 4DX or did somebody crank up the air conditioner? As viewers glide across the Arctic skyline cool air begins to drift through the theatre, while the seats move to feel like they're floating through the air.

"Furious 7"

Forget the bulletproof vest because these invincible characters dodge bullets left and right. When guns are fired an "air shots" feature is activated in the chair's headrest, making it feel like bullets are whizzing by your head.

"Jurassic World"

One of the film's larger-than-life moments happens when a Mosasaurus jumps out of the water to devour a great white shark. As the sea creature bursts onto the screen the audience is splashed with a light water mist.

"Need For Speed"

Street-racing films use motion chairs to their utmost potential, but this action flick took it to another level by piping in the scents of burning rubber and gun powder during key moments.
