Al Pacino received an offer he couldn’t refuse on Sunday: The 75-year-old actor received an honourary key to the City of Montreal.

Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre -- who said he is a big fan of Pacino's, and owns all of his movies -- handed over the key during a noon-hour ceremony at City Hall.

Coderre said he was very happy to have the actor in town to accept the honour. "It’s all yours now," he joked.

Pacino said he was honoured to receive the key, noting he’s visited Montreal for both business and pleasure.

"It feels like New York, it feels like Europe," Pacino told reporters after the key was given to him. "But it feels like its own thing. I love it."

The Academy Award-winning actor left a thank you note to the city before being given the key.

Pacino is in Montreal for a one-night show to discuss his life and career. He said he also planned on checking out the Grand Prix with his children.

Despite playing a race car driver in the film "Bobby Deerfield," Pacino said this will be the first "real" race he's ever seen.

"That's the typical actor answer," Pacino said. "You've done all these things, but never the real thing."

Pacino is best known for his roles as Tony Montana in "Scarface," and Michael Corleone in "The Godfather" series. The actor most recently starred in the film "Danny Collins," where he played an aging rock star.
