This week’s warm spell has resulted in back-to-back days of record-setting temperatures in Alberta. More than 20 record highs were set on Wednesday and another 26 record highs were posted on Thursday. Edmonton set a record on Wednesday, Feb. 4, but the city’s Thursday high of 11 C was just short of the Feb. 5 record high of 12.2 C set in 1886. Edmonton International Airport did set another record high on Thursday, mainly because the records only go back to the mid-1960s. The high of 8.8 C on Thursday shattered the previous record high of 6.6 C set in 1991. Here’s a full look at all the records according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
