This weekend, a free Sports Day event is taking place at St. Albert’s Servus Credit Union Place. People of all ages and abilities will get the chance to try out all kinds of sports, watch demonstrations and chat with representatives from local sports groups from 9:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. “Organized sport participation is hugely important in our community and there’s so many benefits to it,” said Matt Lumsden, community recreation supervisor with the City of St. Albert. • The information you need to know, sent directly to you: Download the CTV News App “Whether it’s the physical benefits such as maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle, social benefits like meeting new people or the development benefits for our youth, it’s all so important,” Lumsden added.
