PWHL returning to Rogers Place for 2 neutral-site games this season

Edmonton will host two Professional Women's Hockey League games during the PWHL Takeover Tour.

Once was so good the first time, they’re going to drop the puck twice this time out.

After selling out Rogers Place for a date last February, the Professional Women’s Hockey League will stage two regular-season games for Season 2 of its Takeover Tour featuring one of the league’s newest teams.

The Vancouver Goldeneyes will face the Minnesota Frost on Dec. 27 and the Boston Fleet on April 7 at the downtown Edmonton arena.

Last season, the Toronto Sceptres beat the Ottawa Charge 3-2 in overtime on Feb. 16 in front of a capacity Rogers Place crowd of 17,518.

The Goldeneyes begin play in the 2025-26 PWHL season, joining the Seattle Torrent as two expansion franchises joining the circuit’s original six teams: the Charge, Fleet, Frost, Sceptres, Montreal Victoire and New York Sirens.

The two games in Edmonton are among the 16 being staged at neutral sites this season. Chicago, Denver, Detroit and Halifax are the other cities hosting two such games, with Calgary, Dallas, Hamilton, Washington and Winnipeg each hosting one.

Tickets will be available via presale on Thursday at 10 a.m. before going on sale to the general public 24 hours later.

The PWHL regular season begins Nov. 21, with the first Takeover Tour game slated for Dec. 17 in Halifax.
