Update: Charges against Jason Masse related to this incident were withdrawn in November 2016. Provost RCMP are investigating an incident where a man forced a woman at gun point to drive him from Consort to Wainwright Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The woman escaped the vehicle when they stopped at a gas station in Czar and she contacted the police. The suspect is 31-year-old Jason Masse, who fled the gas station on foot and has evaded the police since the incident. RCMP did not locate Masse’s handgun in the victim’s vehicle, and they believe he is still in possession of the weapon and headed to Edmonton. RCMP described Masse as follows: If anyone has information about Masse’s whereabouts, please contact the Provost RCMP department at 780-753-2214, or call Crime Stoppers unanimously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Police advise to not approach Masse, as he is believed to be armed and could be violent.
