Alexander First Nation will see a mobile mammography trailer come to the community next month to provide free tests. Eligible individuals between the ages of 45 and 74 can get a free screening at Alexander Health Services on April 16. A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast tissue and is the best way to locate breast cancer early when treatment is more effective. While screening is available at no cost, appointments are still required. Slots can be booked by calling 1-800-667-0604. Alexander First Nation is about 40 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
