Links offered for missing links to small-town Alberta butcher burglary

Stawnichy's Mundare Sausage is offering 100 rings of Alberta-made Ukrainian sausage for information about two people who broke into the Mundare store last week.

These small-town Alberta burglars need to meat justice.

Whoever they are, they’re brats, for sure, but this isn’t your run-of-the-mill weiner: they decided to rip off a beloved Ukrainian sausage maker.

Two thieves smashed their way into Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage through the front door on Wednesday night last week.

We can’t say these thieves have good taste all they stole from the store on Mundare’s main commercial street was $90 from the cash register, but assistant general manager Kyler Zeleny wants to find the missing links by offering a palatable prize for help catching the criminals.

“If there’s any information that results in the perpetrators – the weenies, as I call them – being arrested, then that individual is entitled to 100 rings of locally made Ukrainian Mundare sausage,” Zeleny told CTV News Edmonton on Monday.

Stawnichy’s wants the thieves found so they don’t return to the store or to any other businesses in the area. They’re asking anyone with tips to call the Vegreville RCMP.

Mundare is 75 kilometres east of Edmonton just north of Highway 16.
