Temperatures are set to soar across Alberta on Wednesday and Thursday with most of central and northern Alberta hitting highs of 28 to 33 C. Morning lows Wednesday and Thursday will be in the low to mid teens. That meets the criteria for Environment and Climate Change Canada to issue a heat warning for virtually all of Alberta. The mountain parks are not included and neither are the Lethbridge/Medicine Hat regions, which have a higher threshold for Heat Warnings. A cold front will set off some late-day showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and usher in a bit of a cooldown for Friday and Saturday with daytime highs back in the low to mid 20s for the end of the week in Edmonton.
