Fire bans enacted throughout central Alberta

Parts of Alberta have issued advisories or restrictions due to the increased wildfire risk.

Officials are warning about increased fire risk throughout central Alberta.

Fire advisories took effect in Leduc County and Lacombe County at 4 p.m. Thursday and 3 p.m. Friday, respectively.

A fire restriction, an elevated alert, took effect in Sturgeon County Friday morning.

Each county has rules restricting burning under the different levels of alerts.
