One person has been arrested in connection with a jewelry store robbery in West Edmonton Mall earlier this month and police say he has been tied to other jewelry store thefts across Canada. Police were called to the mall at 8:40 p.m. on May 5. It was reported that a man had tried on some jewelry at the store and then ran away with the items, spraying pepper spray as he ran. Officers collected fingerprints from the scene and were able to match them to a person who was known to police. The prints were also linked to several other jewelry store thefts across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with theft over $5,000, failing to comply with a release order and breach of release order.
