Edmonton woman hit by train dead

A woman who was hit by a train in south Edmonton last week has died, the Edmonton Police Service says.

Police say a woman who was hit by a train last week has died.

Around 5:45 a.m. on June 26, Edmonton police were called to a collision involving a CP Rail train and a pedestrian south of 51 Avenue between 99 Street and Gateway Boulevard.

The 33-year-old woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say its Major Collision Investigations Section is still investigating the collision.

No charges have been laid at this time.
