Edmonton to host track and field athletes from across the globe

Foote Field will be host to over 120 track and field athletes from more than 20 countries for the Edmonton Athletics Invitational on July 13.

The fourth-annual invitational is a silver event that’s part of the World Athletics Continental Tour with a prize pool of US$75,000.

Several Albertan athletes will be competing as well as members of Team Canada.

“We are very proud and honoured to be part of this athlete experience and to continue the rich legacy of track and field events in Edmonton,” said Jeff Bailey, the executive director of Athletics Alberta in a statement. “This is very exciting for our city and our sport.”
