Two men are facing charges after police uncovered a drug-manufacturing operation at a commercial property in Red Deer, Alta. RCMP were tipped off about suspicious activity at the commercial business in the north end of the city in July. A warrant was obtained soon after leading police to “significant quantities” of chemicals, substances, equipment and other materials used to make fentanyl. Police also found 1,735 grams of finished fentanyl product. “The dismantling of this fentanyl site disrupts the flow of these dangerous substances into our communities and makes our neighbourhoods safer,” Cst. Andrew Devine with the Red Deer RCMP said in a news release. On Oct. 8, police searched a Red Deer home connected to the investigation. RCMP said electronic devices, laptops, forged documents and equipment to make forged documents was seized. A 33-year-old man charged in connection to the investigation remains in custody. An arrest warrant has been issued for a second man.
