Prime Minister Mark Carney visited southeast Edmonton on Sunday, on the final day of campaigning for the federal election. Carney met with Liberal hopeful Amarjeet Sohi at his Mill Woods campaign office late Sunday afternoon and spoke to a gathering of onlookers. Carney visited four provinces the day before Monday’s vote but cancelled some campaign activity because of tragic events in Vancouver, where 11 people were confirmed dead as of Sunday afternoon following Saturday night’s vehicle attack at a street festival celebrating the contributions of the Filipino Canadian community. Carney cancelled an event in Hamilton to address the public and the Filipino Canadian community before leaving for Saskatoon. He also cancelled an event in Calgary. After he visits Edmonton, he will end his day with events in Metro Vancouver and Greater Victoria. With files from The Canadian Press
