Parole ineligibility has been set for a man after he pleaded guilty to fatally shooting another man in Blockhouse, N.S., three years ago. Arthur Abdul Mosher pled guilty on Dec. 10, 2025, to the second-degree murder of 49-year-old Josh Veinotte. A written release about the sentencing decision, which was made in August, was published last Friday. A sentence for second-degree murder comes with an automatic sentence of life in prison. The issue before the court on sentencing was the issue of the length of parole ineligibility. Judge Diane Rowe set parole ineligibility for Mosher at 15 years. She said that the murder of Veinotte on July 23, 2023, was “brutal.” He was shot multiple times and was buried a gravel pit, according to an agreed statement of facts. Rowe also said Mosher must also provide a DNA sample, will have a lifetime firearms ban and must forfeit the gun used in the crime. For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
