Camrose RCMP seek public’s help to identify suspect in Christmas Eve Hay Lakes armed robbery

Camrose RCMP are trying to identify a suspect in the Dec. 24 armed robbery of a gas station.

Camrose RCMP are asking for public assistance to identify a suspect in an Hays Lake armed robbery that took place on Christmas Eve.

On Dec. 24 at around 3:40 p.m., Camrose RCMP received reports of a robbery at the gas station at 2 Railway Avenue in Hay Lakes.

Officers say the suspect threatened the cashier with a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The lone suspect left in what appeared to be a grey GMC Sierra 2500 truck with a crew cab and drove away.

No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a man over six feet tall with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black zip up sweater, grey pants, light brown Timberland-style boots and a red bandana over his face.

Hay Lakes is located 63.5 kilometres southeast of Edmonton.
