About 300 health and safety leaders and workers are converging in Edmonton for the 23rd annual Alberta Health and Safety Conference at the Edmonton Convention Centre. “Safety is obviously the major topic, but we have lots of topics such as incident investigation… (and) safety learnings,” said Alberta Safety Council executive director Linda Knowles. “We’re all in the same business of making sure that we don’t do any harm to our workers… and make sure everybody gets home safe.” Speakers include Alberta’s Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration Minister Joseph Schow, Calgary Police Service deputy chief Cliff O’Brien, and Workers’ Compensation Board industry specialist Erin Eden.
