After the coldest winter in decades complete with an ice storm and polar vortex, many people in Ontario were probably hoping for a chance to thaw out this summer.
While we have had some hot days, if you go outside on Friday you may want to put on a jacket. The cool temperatures swept into the region Thursday causing many people on social media to refer to this as #Augtober because it feels like a nice October day outside, but it's the middle of August. In fact, it is warmer in Yellowknife than it is in Ottawa.
The average high temperature for Toronto in August is 25 degrees while the high yesterday only hit 17 degrees. The average high temperature in Toronto last month was exactly season at 25 degrees, but so far in August Toronto has seen eight days below seasonal and two days above.
The weather isn't going to stay like this for long. Temperatures are forecasted to rise this weekend.
