A terminally ill Alberta girl’s dream is about to come true.

Taylor Swift’s label has confirmed the singer will meet five-year-old Ava Hadfield when the pop star performs in Alberta in August.

Ava told CTV Edmonton Thursday that she’s “really excited.”

Ava has an aggressive brain stem tumour that doctors have been unable to treat. They say she has only about one year to live.

More than 200 people had joined a Twitter account called “Ava’s Army” that was dedicated to getting Swift’s attention – an especially difficult task considering the pop star has more than 60 million followers.

Ava’s parents were thrilled by the news.

“I think the whole house was screaming, laughing and crying,” her father said.
