OTTAWA -- Two Ottawa police officers are facing charges and have been suspended from duty.

Ottawa police say the charges relate to alleged incidents in May 2016 while the officers were off duty in Kingston, Ont.

Const. Ahmad Hafizi, 39, is charged with unsafe storage of a firearm, transferring a firearm without authority and obstructing a peace officer.

Const. Christian Nungisa, 33, is charged with unsafe storage of a firearm.

Both officers are scheduled to appear at the Kingston court on Nov. 24.
